After months of shifting schedules, it seems the timeline for the compact Land Cruiser’s debut is finally taking shape.
According to Japanese publication Mag-X, insider sources claim the SUV won’t be appearing at this month’s Japan Mobility Show. Instead, Toyota is expected to hold a private preview for select media on Monday, October 20, followed by the official global reveal early the next morning—specifically at 5 a.m. on October 21.
If those dates hold true, U.S. East Coast audiences should start seeing the first official images emerge around 3 p.m. on October 20, once time zones are factored in.
The report also indicates that the model—likely to be called the Land Cruiser FJ—will be manufactured in Thailand and exported globally, with its Japanese market launch reportedly scheduled for mid-2026. The Thai production link adds credibility to earlier reports suggesting it will share its platform with the Toyota Hilux Champ, which is built at the same facility.
